What is Go Call Your Mom LLC?
We’re a Chicago-based company that makes apparel and content that’s funny, heartfelt, and probably too real. We exist to remind you to check in with the people who made you who you are.
Why does go call your mom focus on men?
Because connection saves lives, and men are losing it fastest.
Sociologist Robert Putnam, in Bowling Alone, wrote about how Americans have grown more isolated over the last few decades, with fewer clubs, fewer neighbors, fewer shared spaces. And Richard Reeves, in Of Boys and Men, takes it further: boys and men are falling behind not just economically, but emotionally and relationally. They’re lonelier, less connected, and less likely to reach out when they’re hurting.
That disconnection shows up in the data. Men are still overwhelmingly more likely to die from what economists call “deaths of despair”: suicide, overdose, and alcohol-related causes.
So yes, Go Call Your Mom focuses on men. Because the act of calling is small, radical, and repeatable. It’s how empathy spreads.
It’s how we rebuild what’s been lost, one conversation at a time.
Do moms actually want to be called every day?
According to a Pew Research study, 92% of parents say it’s very important to stay in close touch with their adult kids. Another survey by CBS found that 85% of moms want more frequent contact—and many say just a quick check-in text or call would make their day. So yes. Moms want the call. It’s free. Do it.
Are there health benefits to calling our moms?
Glad you asked. Daily connection with a loved one has been linked to reduced stress, better memory, and even lower blood pressure. A 2022 University of Kansas study showed that even brief interactions with close relationships significantly improve well-being. TL;DR: connection is medicine. And calling your mom is a habit with no downside.
What if I don’t have a mom to call?
“Go Call Your Mom” is bigger than biology. It’s about love, care, and connection. Think of it as your “M.O.M.” (My Official Mentor). Maybe it’s your dad. Maybe it’s a grandma, an aunt, an old teacher, or the friend who kept you grounded. Call the person who roots for you. They deserve it. So do you.
